Inu x Boku SS - short review

Inu x Boku SS seemed like a pretty cool to start with but despite only being 12 episodes, the middle of the series felt a bit bland, However the super cute ending was what made it worth the watch.

Miketsukami Soushi is hot but he was a bit too much of a doormat, I always though having someone obey your every whim would be fun but watching him made me realise that people are more interesting when they show passion for their personal desires.

In contrast Ririchiyo was more of an interesting character because I think I empathised with her introversion and inability to express her feelings in the way she wanted. As the main character, you get more insight into her personal thoughts throughout the series, whereas Soushi remained a mystery for quite a while. He was much more likeable towards the end when he gained more of a personality.

Karneval - Adorable boys everywhere!

The boys in Karneval are all so cute! This anime has a monsters and mystery element to it, resulting in some creepy and violent scenes to contrast with all the pretty characters. From train heists, to crazy experiements and secret organisations... I'm still not sure where this show is going but I'm certainly enjoying the scenery along the way!

The following scene just screams "fujoshi, please exploit this for fanfiction!"

Spring 2013 Anime - Mecha

This current season of anime has been awesome for mecha fans. There's 3 mecha shows I'm following and they are all pretty good. (And just to add to the mecha mood I'm also currently watching Gundam Seed).

Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince
The worst team in a pilot training facility "Team Rabbits" manages to get a mission and succeed in their first real battle but the team faces public ridicule when they can't maintain their winning streak. This is probably the most light hearted of the three shows. The character designs may look familiar if you are a Gundam fan, as they were done as the same guy that did Gundam Seed.

Kakumeiki Valvrave
A highschool facility in space is attacked by terrorists until a lone student fends them off in an experimental mecha that costs the pilot their humanity. Got quite deliciously violent in just the first episode! Made by Sunrise studios of Gundam, Code Geass and Escaflowne mecha fame and has the Code Geass writer on board. 4chan are heavily comparing this to Code Geass but I think it has enough difference to set it aside from that. Gorgeous character designs, especially the eyes!

Suisei no Gargantia
This anime is also beautiful to look at with a great cast of characters! Ledo, a pilot in the war against the Hideauze is thrown off course and finds himself on a strange but habitable and water covered planet. His mecha, Chamber has an awesome AI system! Made by Production IG of Ghost in the Shell fame with the writer of Madoka Magica on board!

Suisui no Gargantia - Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet - Preview video

Promo video for Suisui no Gargantia, which starts airing this month as part of the new season of anime. Silver haired bishi with purple eyes in a tight pilot suit... well I'm sold!

Lots of mecha series coming up this Spring 2013 season, it looks promising!

The story begins in the distant future in the far reaches of the galaxy. The Human Galactic Alliance has been constantly fighting for its survival against a grotesque race of beings called "Hidiaazu." During an intense battle, the young lieutenant Redo and his humanoid mobile weapon Chamber are swallowed up into a distortion of time and space. Waking from his artificially induced hibernation, Redo realizes that he has arrived on Earth, the planet on the lost frontier. On this planet that was completely flooded by the seas, people live in fleets of giant ships, salvaging relics from the seas' depths in order to survive. Redo arrives on one of the fleets called Gargantia. With no knowledge of the planet's history or culture, he is forced to live alongside Amy, a 15-year-old girl who serves as a messenger aboard the Gargantia fleet. To Redo, who has lived a life where he knows nothing but fighting, these days of peace continue to surprise him.

Ixion Saga - DT

Ixion Saga - Dimension Transfer seems like your standard "guy gets stuck in a video game"' anime at first. But then soon after you'll find yourself rolling on floor over how completely hilarious it is. The whole opening song is a metaphor for losing your virginity, there's an epic trap voice by Jun Fukuyama (Most well known for playing Lelouch in Code Geass), a guy that keeps getting hit in the balls and thus loses his manhood and a whole bunch of other sexual innuendo, fanservice and video game references to discover.
