Noragami - short review & bishies!

One of the anime I really enjoyed this season was Noragami. I do have a particular love of supernatural themes and was expecting your run of the mill fighting demons anime. However it did deliver much more, with interesting characters and developing relationships between them. Apparently the ending diverges slightly from the manga/novel, but this has been done to give the series a neat wrap up with an "end boss" so to speak. Where the original has a longer arc to explore, the anime only has 12 episodes. I'm hoping this series will be granted a second season!

The opening song has some interesting art direction, with the muted greys and color highlights and a really catchy song.

And now on to the bishies!

The main character Yato, is an upopular god who has fallen from his former glory. He seeks new followers and is willing to grant the smallest of wishes. From searching for lost cats to household chores! Those piercing blue eyes are all sorts of delicious.

Yukine is an adorable ghost of a blonde teenage boy who was found by Yato. Gods have the ability to name ghosts and use them as a weapon to defeat Phantoms. Yukine causes quite a bit of trouble as he comes to term with the life he lost.

I also enjoyed the Yukio (Blue Exorcist) doppelganger. Kazuma and Yukio are both voiced by Jun Fukuyama, so it only doubled the de ja vu. Kazuma is also a weapon belonging to another god.
